Oysters All Around

Charleston is Our Oyster

We are so blessed!

Jan and Elly

As we are slowly, but surely, growing our business, meaning more oysters to clean, more tassels to make, new partnerships, new shipping locations! We are thrilled to say items from our oyster line are now in 4 shops around Charleston including Noddy, Textured Design, Charleston Krewe and Simply J. As Charleston residents, we have always enjoyed shopping in these locations, and hope you will spend some time checking them out. We are going to take time over the next few weeks to share information about all of these fabulous locations.

To kick start this idea, we are going to share information about our FIFTH partnership! We are thrilled to connect with Liz from The Charleston Weekender and Mimi from The Tiny Tassel in their new endeavor, Cannonborough Collective. We will be a vendor in their adorable retail space and super fun balloon bar. Read all about them below!

(Charleston, S. C.) April 26, 2017 -  Miwako (Mimi) Striplin of The Tiny Tassel & Liz Martin of The Charleston Weekender have partnered to bring a balloon & gift shop, Cannonborough Collective, to the peninsula.  Opening early May and located in the heart of Cannonborough at 185A St. Philip Street, this will be a shared space that allows local brands to rent space to sell their merchandise.  Products offerings will range from garments to art, and the first round of brands will include: Park & Madison, Oysters All Around, The Blue Root, Borough, South of Libbie, Lime & Lotus Organics, Revival 5 Creative and flower arrangements from Fete De Fleurs.  After hours, Cannonborough Collective will occasionally serve as a crafter’s workshop catering to locals and bachelorette parties.

To celebrate the grand opening, Cannonborough Collective will offer a free balloon with purchase all week (5/2-5/6) and the celebration will culminate with a Derby Day Party from 11am-6pm on Saturday, May 6.  Guests are encouraged to wear big hats and come enjoy mint juleps.  Food will be available for purchase.

“Cannonborough Collective is a place that’s for locals by locals, and we want to share the space with other Charleston makers. We’re not business moguls, just two regular gals who were spending so much time at markets and pop ups that we wanted to have a space to call our own.  We love the existing shops and eateries in the neighborhood and are so thrilled to be joining the Cannonborough/Elliotborough community.” - Liz Martin & Mimi Striplin

Meet The Founders

Mimi Striplin, a College of Charleston graduate, left life in the haberdashery world behind and founded The Tiny Tassel in the summer of 2015. Designing and creating each tassel by hand with hopes of bringing a little joy to Charleston has led her to offer a full line of handmade jewelry and garments made up of bright colors and classic prints which are available at retailers across the country.

Liz Martin created an online shop, The Charleston Weekender, in 2015 to add a little creativity to her life as a speech therapist.  Her line of products quickly emerged into a lifestyle blog intended to inspire Charlestonians to live every day more like it’s the weekend.  She offers products discovered during her travels, as well as some of her own designs/products that are sold at a number of local retailers.
